Finally snow under my feet!

After a long wait, the snow finally got to Norway. Last weekend we where in Hemsedal that opened two weeks ago. The conditions where good, but few slopes open, so it was pretty crowded. But still, I finally got to feel snow under my feet again. Now it's just for the skies to open and the snow to fall to earth in big dumps.
Next week I am going to Oslo to meet up with some sponsors and look at some new equipment. Really looking forward to it! Heard that The North Face had gotten a lot of nice clothing for next fall. Also got a new sponsor lately, Lom og Skjåk Sparebank decided to sponsor me for the upcoming season. Thank you!

Also check out the new Frig Beaniecollection on www.frig.no
And check out the übercool "Hei Gut" caps! Come's in handy when talking to locals!

Also got in to the local nest at Black Crows, check out my page in the local nest

Meeting up with some sponsors..

I where in Oslo a couple days ago visiting a couple of my sponsors. First the trip went to Outdoor A/S, the guys who have The North Face and Scarpa. There I was met by the always smiling Maggie. And she sent me to the sample room telling me to find what I wanted of all the clothes hanging there, while she went to get some clothes from somewhere else. There were a lot of nice clothes there, so when I was finished I had as much as I could carry. And the winter collection for next year hasn’t even arrived yet. Really looking forward to take a look at that, and taking some more nice skiing gear home in October.
A picture of the nice clothes i got from The North Face.

I also had a talk with Andre Pracek who has WeSki A/S, and has amongst other things Black Crows skis and Conformable soles and inner boots.  I have already gotten my skis for start of season from him. And he could give me news about a new prototype ski from them coming, that I could test soon. And the ski sounded really nice! We also talked about boot fitting, which is going to be really nice. I will also congratulate him and Janneke with their newborn girl that was born on my birthday the 15. September!

Waiting for King Winter to come and pay a long and snowy visit.

Fall has taken it’s grip on the weather lately, and the first snow has already fallen on the higher mountains. So, naturally, planning the upcoming season has also started for real.

I have been working as a rafting guide the last month, and it’s getting cold. That also means seriously low water levels. Actually managed to pin the boat in Ofossen, the day we didn’t bring the big pin-kit. But the boat got out on it’s own, and everyone had a good laugh on my expense. Also done some kayaking this summer, which is really fun. Have purchased a playboat, and been borrowing a creekboat. Tried a slalomboat the other day, which is also good fun. Rafting season is soon over, so then I think I will go back to being a substitute teacher and mountain guide until Christmas.
Galdhøpiggen summer skiing center has been closed since 18. July, they finally reopened on Saturday. Didn’t have the chance to go skiing then, but will hopefully go skiing again really soon. I can really feel the abstinences these days, so it’s going to be nice! Have really started planning the upcoming season, and hoping to get a lot of days skiing this winter. The plan is to go to the Alps in January, and stay there as long as possible. Hopefully also doing some filming and photographing while I’m there. It’s a little in the planning stage still and a little depending on my sponsors how much it will be, but I think it’s going to work out very well.
Going to Oslo today to visit some sponsors and maybe celebrate my birthday a little. And I am really looking forward to go skiing when I come back. Let the snow fall!
